Top 2 Weight Loss Red Flags

When you choose a program to help lose weight (there are hundreds of options) there are two red flags that help with the decision-making process.

Just these two red flags should weed out more than 90% of the available commercial weight-loss programs and schemes. In assessing a program, just ask these two questions and you’ll discover why the Fitness Protocol is the ONLY real answer to long-term, credible weight-management.

Red Flag #1:

What is the measurement for progress? If the measurement used to gauge progress is “pounds-on-scale” or “BMI” (body mass index) or anything other than “body-composition” (lean mass vs. body-fat), then, run away from this program right away.

If you want to take your workouts to a higher level and blowtorch body fat, my FREE Bodyweight Metabolic Fat Burner Workouts are what you need. There are 3 levels: Bodyweight 200, 300 and 500. Start at the level you can handle.

It is based on a faulty measurement gauge. Just this red flag alone would eliminate almost all commercial weight-loss programs including the biggest names in the business you see on T.V., in magazines, radio, internet and almost everywhere.

Red Flag #2:

Are you required to purchase pre-packaged food? This is where you must consider the true nature and focus of a weight-loss company or program that requires you to purchase their pre-packaged foods. Let’s face it. Are they interested in your health or more interested in selling you their foods? After all, most healthy foods can be purchased at your local grocery store... for much less!

Most commercial weight-loss companies are primarily engaged in the pre-packaged food business. Actual weight-loss “programming” and “education” is just a give-a-way in order to get you signed-up for a FOOD PURCHASE program. You’ll notice that at the end of every ad: “Price does not include food.

Commercial weight loss program advertisements make it seem as though the most important thing in your life is using "their diet program." The most important thing is YOUR HEALTH.  And, your health far outweighs any diet program. In fact, your health depends on a commitment to good nutrition, regular exercise and healthy lifestyle habits.

Advertisements such as "lose 30 pounds in 30 days," sends a message that has a short-term solution to your weight problem. Why? Because weight lost that quickly (without regular exercise) will be mainly lost muscle mass instead of fat mass (this will slow down your metabolism). You also might be very ill after losing that much weight in such a short period of time.

Medical and fitness professionals agree that a sound exercise and nutrition program is one in which you average 2 lost pounds per week. And, the pounds you do lose will be mainly fat mass (if you combine sound nutrition with weight training and interval cardio training) which will eventually give you the lean, healthy body you want and need.

It's not going to help you much if your body looks good (for a while) but your health and quality of life is a total wreck. Exercise hard and smart. Build a foundation for your body.

There are no quick fixes for building your lean and toned body. Forget the commercials that say "lose 30 pounds in 30 days...." You will put that weight back on (and more) because your body composition (less fat, more lean muscle mass) has not changed.
